Lewisham Bereavement Counselling (LBC) is a registered charity supported by Lewisham Council jointly with Lewisham NHS.

Our aim is to provide professional, one-to-one, confidential counselling to bereaved people resident in Lewisham borough over the age of 18. This service is made available through our trained volunteer counsellors who in turn are supported by qualified supervisors.

The service is free to all those who use the service although we do ask people who can afford it, or who are in full time employment, to make a small contribution towards the cost of each session. We suggest a sum in the region of £5 to £10. This helps us meet the shortfall between the funding we receive and our running costs. We are grateful for the many voluntary donations we receive from clients who have completed their counselling.

One-to-one counselling is usually provided in your own home. However, if this is not convenient to you, we can arrange sessions at a suitable venue at a day and time that suit both you and your counsellor throughout the week. It may also be possible to arrange counselling on a Saturday.
